Mepilex Border Sacrum Ag består af et Safetac® sårkontaktlag af blød silikone, en absorberende skumpude af polyuretan med sølvsulfat og farvet med aktivt kul, et lag med superabsorberende fibre, en nonwoven samt åndbar og vandtæt film. Safetac® er en proprietær klæbeteknologi, der er udviklet af Mönlycke, og som minimerer smerte hos patienten og traume mod intakt hud eller sår. Mepilex Border Sacrum Ag er en blød skumbandage af silikone, der absorberer væske, opretholder et fugtigt sårhelingsmiljø og har antimikrobielle egenskaber. Mepilex Border Ag indeholder sølvsulfat med det formål at skabe en effektiv bakteriel barriere og inaktivere en lang række sårrelaterede patogener (bakterier og svampe) som vist in vitro. Ved at reducere antallet af mikroorganismer kan Mepilex Border Ag desuden reducere lugt. Det er påvist, at Mepilex Border Sacrum Ag inaktiverer sårrelaterede patogener i op til 7 dage in vitro.
